The best kayakers of Serbia are busily preparing for the numerous challenges that will come to them this summer – the World Cup in Szeged and the European Championship in Belgrade. Among them is Stefan Vekić, our fourth year student at the study program Management in Sport. The kayak national team of Serbia, after two months of preparations in Turkey, is currently training in Belgrade at Ada Ciganlija , which Stefan used to dedicate himself to his responsibilities at the Faculty.

– I have submitted four exams and I hope that I’ll finish all of this successfully. I have to admit that the preparations were very difficult, so the biggest problem for me was to keep concentration for learning after a hard day. But when you love something, then everything is much easier – said Vekić, who will compete in a kayak four-seater at 500 meters.

– I had the best time at a distance of 500 meters in the electoral tactics and I am optimistic about the results, because I think we’re prepared well. First we are followed by the World Cup in Szeged from 18th to 20th May, and then the main competitions, which is the European Championship in which Belgrade will be host from June 8th to 10th.

About the ambitions of these two competitions Vekić says:

– We had really good preparation conditions and that’s why I’m an optimist. I have to admit that I expect one of the medals. Last year at the World Cup, we were sixth and now we want to improve the placement. We have a great motive and hope for the best – concluded Vekić , and we wish him a lot of luck.
